A school’s real story is told by the people who walk out of its gates and carry its lessons into the world. When parents ask us what a Palmville education leads to, we point to our former students, whose journeys show what is possible. This article looks at Palmville Schools alumni, how their experiences reflect the school’s values and how the alumni network gives back.
We have kept this article to stories we can share with confidence and quotes our alumni have given us. There are many more graduates out there whose stories deserve to be told, and we hope more of them will get in touch.
Where our alumni are
Palmville College was founded in 1999 and Palmville Children School in 1989, so there are now many years of graduates spread across Nigeria and beyond. At Palmville College, most students gain university admission in the same year they leave school, and our former students have gone on to a wide range of degrees and careers.
Behind that outcome lies a combination of things: small classes of no more than 25 students, a blended Nigerian and British curriculum, well-equipped science and ICT facilities, and a school culture that encourages students to work hard and behave with integrity.
Alumni stories
Ms Omolabake N. Oladimeji, an alumna of the college, earned a First Class degree in International Relations from Caleb University. A First Class result takes consistent effort over several years, and it is the kind of achievement that shows what discipline built in school can lead to.
Dr. Uduigwome Emmanuel, another alumnus, reflects on his school years by saying that Palmville “recognised the importance of developing all-round individuals”. That sentence captures something we care about deeply. Grades matter, but so do character, teamwork, creativity and the confidence to lead. This is why our students are encouraged to take part in sports, chess, music, debate, Cultural Day and other activities alongside their lessons.
If you are a Palmville graduate and would like your story to be considered for a future article, we would love to hear from you. We will always ask your permission before sharing your name or your achievements.
Stories such as these also remind current students that the road from a Palmville classroom to university and a career is a real one. When alumni return to speak to students, they show that the habits formed in school, such as punctuality, honest work and respect for others, continue to matter long after graduation.
Giving back
Many alumni want to say thank you to the school that shaped them. The Palmville alumni association gives them a structured way to do so, and it also benefits the graduates themselves.
The association offers several things:
Giving back does not have to be dramatic. Some alumni mentor a current student, some attend reunions to reconnect with old teachers, and others simply encourage their own children and relatives to value education. Every contribution, large or small, strengthens the community that helped to shape them.
- Networking with fellow graduates across different fields
- Reunions that bring old classmates and teachers together
- Volunteering opportunities within the school community
- A 25% tuition discount for the children of alumni
Join the alumni network
If you passed through Palmville Children School or Palmville College, we would be delighted to hear from you. Visit our alumni page to find out how to join the association, update your details and take part in upcoming activities.
Current students benefit from the network too. A former pupil who comes back to talk about university life, a career or an entrepreneurial journey can make the path ahead feel real and reachable. Parents who are considering Palmville for their children may also like to read about our secondary school, which shows how we prepare students for what comes next.
The network is also a way to stay connected to the people who shared your school years. Friendships formed in the classroom and on the sports field often last for decades, and a reunion is a chance to remember the teachers, assemblies and lessons that built them.
